So bad he's mm-mm good. Personally I think Touga is one of the most interesting characters in the series and the movie. Even if I am jealous that he got to sleep with Akio Touga is rather complex since he always seems like he's in control when really he's being so completely manipulated by Akio. In fact, I think Touga is the one manipulated the most since Akio is not only pulling his strings but pulling the strings of others through him. Akio gives him just enough power to believe he could get more, that there actually is eternity in a illusionary castle in the sky.
Honestly I think Touga is even more aware then he seems. I believe he knew that the castle was a fake as well as just how tight a hold Akio had on his puppet strings. These things, however, gave Touga a taste of the strenth he craves. All of Akio is made up of students who have their own personally darkness, some aspect or memory that taints them. Touga believed that power, even false as it was, could exorcise the shadows that lurked in his heart.
I liked Touga in the movie far more then Touga in the series, despite the little screen time he got. The fact that, in the series Touga tricked Utena into believing he was her prince and in the movie he actually was, makes me wonder how closely the movie and the series are tied. Touga's flashback to his childhood would explain quite a bit about his motivation in the series (Although where the hell is Nanami?)
Swooning? I am! I am!
